The Broadgreen Breakfast Club was formed about 15 years ago by two concerned citizens of Swindon regarding the plight of the homeless. Initially it provided breakfast for 2 days of the week and later extended to 7 days with the help of a grant from the Lottery fund. Swindon Borough Council also supported the club, but unfortunately 2 years ago the criteria for funding changed and the financial support from The Borough had to end.

The Breakfast Club has moved on from just providing breakfast and is now providing advice on housing, health, employment and benefits through the outreach workers form Threshold Housing Link, the Housing Department from Swindon Borough Council and a Community Nurse who visits the Breakfast Club at least once a week. The Breakfast Club provides a safe environment for the outreach workers to meet their 'clients' under one roof and provide advice and help to the homeless.

Since 2005, The Breakfast Club has operated from St Lukes Church Hall from 7am - 9am every day of the week except Sundays, throughout the year. The Breakfast Club is managed by a committee consisting of Trustees, Workers representatives, Volunteer representatives and User representatives. Day to day running of the club is by a small number of paid workers and volunteers.
