Rail bosses face a public grilling
RAIL company bosses will be quizzed by councillors on Monday.
First Great Western top brass, as well as Network Rail managers, will appear before Swindon Council's scrutiny committee to answer questions about train performance.
The councillors will look at the standard and quality of rail services in Swindon and the role rail can and should play in the town's growth and expansion.
The members of the committee will also discuss the results of a public questionnaire, which asked rail travellers their opinions on services.
Councillor Kevin Small, chairman of the scrutiny committee, said: "There has been a lot of public interest and media coverage about rail services.
"This committee has decided to review the situation to identify if improvements are needed, and how they can be made.
"I would encourage any members of the public with an interest in this issue to come to the meeting. They will have an opportunity to ask questions."
The meeting begins at 6.30pm in the Civic Offices in Euclid Street, Swindon.

This Is a man who can barely string two sentances together,
unless there written for him. Rail bosses will tie them up in knots with bu** sh**.

Coming from a person who accuses others of " not being able to string two sentences together", may I advise that BWB first learns to spell, as the avarage 11 year old knows the correct useage of the word THEIR and THERE !!!!

Whoops when one corrects another perhaps one ought to get it right, the correct term should have been they're, as in 'they are written'. That aside all these committees, no wonder Councillors collect thousands in expenses. I thought it was the Rail Regulator who was the Authority over the train operators, not the LA. Perhaps if they didn't waste the companies time on such meetings they could get on with improving the ervice. By the way, yet again they announce a public meeting a few hours before it is due. Could the council not use the advers excellent events diary to flag these things up. Oh I forgot the last thing they really want is interfering members of the public.

BWB, BMB was featured on News 24 via text/email. He apparently was one of those disrupted by the flight chaos. Took home 5 hours to get back to Swindon. Apparently he has told his employers he would rather resign than fly BA again. Wonder what the employers said.
