SWINDON police seized drugs and cash during a day of dawn raids.

Warrants were issued on two properties and five people were arrested on Thursday.

A house in Tudor Walk, Walcot, was searched and £1,000 of heroin and crack cocaine was discovered.

Two women and two men were arrested with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Information from the raid led police to another property in Walcot East where a significant amount of cash was found.

At the same time another raid resulted in a bag of cannabis and £700 in cash being found at a house in Whitbourne Avenue, Park North.

A man in his 30s arrested.

An iPod and an LCD TV, suspected to be stolen goods, were removed.

"It's been a brilliant day full of good results," said Sgt Phil Staynings of Swindon police.

"This has been part of the drugs action week with the neighbourhood policing team and the drug squad working together. This is about taking drug dealers off the streets and preventing transient crime.

"We actively encourage residents to report intelligence on drug dealing to us."
