10 THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND SWINDON THIS WEEKEND

1. Swindon Beer Festival 2014, at STEAM, from 11am to 7pm on Saturday. Tickets are sold out for today, which is ticket only. But tickets are available on the door tomorrow.

2. Book Sale at North Swindon Library on Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and Sunday from 12 noon to 4pm. There will be hundreds of books on sale from as little as 20p. 

3. Diwali celebrations will be held at New College by the Tamil Association on Saturday night from 5.30pm. 

4.  Roves Farm's No Big Bangs Firework Display will take place on Saturday. Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks at 7pm. Following the display there will be entertainment from Teeny Pops Disco.

5. Bridal shop Trousseaux in Old Town will host an exclusive preview weekend with a chance to view the 2015 gown collection from Ronald Joyce before it hits stores next year. The store will open from 9.30am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. For more information call 01793 511099.

6. Free Autumn Orienteering parks or Wildlife Treasure Hunt activity packs are available from Sustrans and Swindon Travel Choices. There are three orienteering ‘rounds’ in Swindon – one in Haydon Wick, Dorcan and West Swindon, all of which are seven-mile traffic free loops perfect for walking and cycling. 8. Drummer and founder member of Status Quoe, John Coghlan and his band will perform all the Status Quo hits from the years 1962-1981 at Riffs Bar on Saturday from 7pm. Tickets are £9 in advance or £10 on the door. Visit www.riffsbar.com

9. Comedian Jason Byrne will be at the Wyvern on Sunday night at 8pm. Tickets are £!8.50. Call 01793 524481.

10.
