10 THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND SWINDON THIS WEEKEND

1. The Croft School Christmas Fayre on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. There will be something for everyone to enjoy from Santa's Grotto, to cakes and hot chocolate.  For any further information email fundraising@thecroft.swindon.sch.uk.

2. The Wyvern's panto Dick Whittington can be seen on Saturday and Sunday, starring Nigel Havers as King Rat. Tickets range from £3.50 to £28. To book tickets call 01793 524481.

3. The Swindon Festive Market is now open in Canal Walk, with lots of wooden chalets selling a variety fo Christmassy goods. You can check it out from 9am to 5pm. 

4. Elf will be shown on the Big Screen at Wharf Green on Saturday at 11am and again at 1pm.  For any further information, contact inSwindon on info@inSwindon.com

5. Step back in time and experience how the Edwardians decked their halls for the festive season at Lydiard House and Park's Country House Christmas event from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Standard admission applies. Contact Lydiard House on 01793 466664 for any further information.

6. The Rotary Club of Swindon Phoenix presents the Swindon Santa Fun Run at Lydiard Park on Sunday from 10am. The event is aimed at families and you can run or walk the 5Km course if you like, or if you have children with you or just want to walk the dog or take in the fantastic views you can do that too. Entry is £15 per person for those aged 16 and over, £5 for five to 15 year olds and under five's go free.

7. The Rat Pack Christmas Swinging Show takes place at the MECA on Sunday at 7.30pm and tickets are still available at £18 per person or £16 for concessions. Tickets available online at www.mecaswindon.co.uk by calling 01793 251111 & in person from the Tourist Information Centre (Central Library).

8. The Jubilee Gardens Project near Purton will hold a pre-Christmas open day on Saturday between 10am and 3pm with a variety of items for sale. it is hoped the open day will raise around £2,000 for the project's students next year. For more information call 01793 771539. 

9. Meet Santa's Reindeer at the Outlet Village before they fly away to deliver all the presents, on Saturday from 1pm to 3pm outside the food quarter. 

10. Christmas at STEAM takes place this weekend from 10am to 5pm both days. There will be lots going on including live entertainment, a luxury Christmas market, Christmas cafe, Santa's Christmas story time and more. Entry is £3 for adults, £1 for children and concessions and under three's go free.
