FORMER Swindon Honda worker Nathan Thompson, who emigrated to Australia in 2006 and became a firefighter, was honoured after leading a team which rescued a truck driver from a huge chemical explosion.
Nathan, 34, was presented with a Heroism Medal at the Pride of Australia Awards, alongside three colleagues. Nathan, who used to live in Peatmoor, moved to the other side of the world after meeting his Australian wife at the former Walkabout pub in Swindon.
