Welcome to our selection of great books to read. Each month, we will introduce a new book (or an old one!) which we think is worth reading. We'll tell you what we think - tell us whether
you agree.

LOVE in The Time of Cholera must be one of the most magical books ever written about love - and I defy anyone not to fall in love with it.
It tells the love story of two people over 70 and their journey through life and love, with all its trials - sickness, infidelity, parental disapproval, arguments and disappointment.
The central concept is that love is an actual disease, just as cholera is.
The main character, Fermina Daza, falls for Florentino Ariza in her youth but chooses instead to marry Juvenal Urbino, a successful doctor.
The book chronicles their marriage and Florentino's unfailing devotion to Fermina, which lasts into old age.
Set in a port city in the Caribbean near the Magdalena River, it will transport you to steamy, colonial climes.
It is Gabriel Garcia Marquez at his best - fantastic story-telling, rich, elegiac prose and characters you will fall in love with.
It's a perfect read for a cold winter's day so make sure you get some time to yourself over Christmas and enjoy!
