On Wednesday the Swindon Film Society season continues its voyage around the globe, this time to Tamil Nadu in Southern India.
The plot of the film The Crow’s Egg is simple: two young brothers in the slums of Chennai are determined to get their heart’s desire - a slice of pizza from the new restaurant. Aided by their grandmother, their dreams evolve in a most unexpected way.
Director M. Manikandan has won awards and much acclaim for making a film that deals with social issues but never lectures. Judging by the comments of critics and Indian audiences, this should be an evening of laughter and, possibly, the occasional tear – so come prepared to be swept up and charmed.
The film starts at 7.45pm at the Arts Centre – tickets available on the night.
