THE Prince Leopold Inn near Warminster is a feast for the senses, offering panoramic views of the Wylye valley and an extensive English and Indian menu due to be launched next week.
In the village of Upton Lovell, the award-winning pub, which is named after the Duke of Albany, the youngest son of Queen Victoria, has a beer garden running alongside the river Wylye.
Nash Keshwala moved from Hounslow in Middlesex to take over the 19th century pub with wife Melanie in April, after falling in love with it at first sight. It was initially built as a village shop, post office and general store.
Mr Keshwala, 42, said: "It's my first business. I just didn't enjoy all the rat race of London and wanted to get away.
"It's something my family have been involved in before and when this came up I fell in love with it."
Mr Keshwala was a producer for ITV before deciding on a change of direction and settling on a move to Wiltshire.
"It is so picturesque. The main focal point is that we overlook the river. There are some fantastic walks around," he said.
Mr Keshawala has plans to introduce an Indian menu following the arrival of his Tandoori oven next week.
The gastro-food restaurant seats 70 people and features a built-in barbecue.
A carvery and bar snacks, including cheesy chips and mixed grill platters, are also going to be introduced in the near future.
Leg of lamb, steak and varied fish dishes are an example of the varied menu, with main meals costing on average of £9.95.
Starters include soup, king prawns, smoked fish chowder and scallops and bacon from £5.40.
Desserts cost £4.65 with the most popular option being Chocolate Nemesis, a chocolate cake designed for those with a sweet tooth.
The pub, which lies between Salisbury and Warminster, has six en-suite bed and breakfast rooms so is the perfect resting place for ramblers or for those looking for a relaxing break.
The extensive gardens can seat 150 people, and the inn is available for use as a wedding venue.
