AN ANTIQUES Roadshow-style valuation event will take place in Swindon next week.

From 10am until 2pm on Tuesday, April 21, the Holiday Inn Express, in Frankland Road, will host experts from auctioneers and valuers Warwick and Warwick Ltd, who will be giving advice to visitors on the value of – and selling – their collectables, free of charge.

National firm Warwick and Warwick Ltd has been trading for over 50 years, specialising in coins, banknotes, stamps, medals, militaria, postcards, cigarette cards, die cast toys and model railways.

A company spokesman said: “The public are invited to come along to the hotel to meet Warwick and Warwick’s company representative and discuss the possible sale of their collectables.

“They have been to this area many times before and have always been delighted with the response.

“Many people do not realise that they have possessions of value, especially postcard collections.

“Military medals and militaria are also often more valuable than people imagine, always attracting strong bids on sale days.

“Coin collections are also fetching high prices at present.”

The auctioneers say that home visits may be possible if the collection is particularly large or difficult to transport.
