THE summer holidays are fast approaching and soon the kids will all be running free until school starts again in September.

But what is a blissful time for children escaping homework and uniform can represent a challenge for parents and carers.

How to fill the time productively, how to keep kids healthy and how to pay for it all are just some of the questions that the onset of the summer holidays can bring.

But this year, there is some help at hand.

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has joined forces with the team at the Orbital Shopping Centre to host the 2017 Swindon Summer Activities Fair this coming Saturday.

Justin said: "The summer holidays are great fun for kids but can sometimes present a challenge to parents, grandparents and carers, as they look for activities to keep kids busy, active and crucially enjoying themselves.

"Here in Swindon we are spoilt for choice when it comes to different things to do and see. So whether you're child loves sport or theatre, all of the local organisations who will be providing activities over the summer holidays will be at our summer activities fair at the Orbital."

The event will run from 10am until noon and will be held near the play park outside Boots, weather permitting.

A range of local clubs, organisations, leisure centres and the like will be on hand to reveal the exciting activities they have planned for the coming summer break.

Organisers have promised that there will be some good deals and promotions up for grabs too, proving that it pays to plan ahead.
