THE UK's first Prosecco Festival will be held in the STEAM museum in May.

Guests can sample more than 40 types of bubbly on Wednesday May 4 and Thursday May 5, along with a buffet of Italian street food, and live music.

Visitors will be given their own Prosecco flute on arrival and

Entry tickets cost £12.50 each.

All bars at the event work on a token system. Tokens can be purchased from the token points at the venue for £5 each and can be exchanged for any drink.

The organisers wish to clarify that their event is different to a similar Prosecco festival which was held at the Oasis in December and lead to several complaints.

Jessica Rice, Director of Prosecco Festival Ltd, said: "We travel across the UK to more than 40 locations each year with rave reviews.

"Our teams work incredibly hard and very much value the excellent reputation that we’ve built.

"We want to assure all Swindon clients that we are in no way affiliated to any other events that have taken place in, or in close vicinity to Swindon.

"We are incredibly excited to bring this event to the Steam museum – especially as we know that the people of Swindon really love their fizz."
