NICK Sharratt’s idiosyncratic illustrations will be familiar to millions of readers, so his many fans will be delighted to learn he is visiting Swindon on Monday afternoon for a Big Draw Along.

Nick is a much-loved writer and illustrator, and his illustrations for Dame Jacqueline Wilson’s phenomenally popular children’s books brought him a huge audience. He has depicted dozens of popular characters in her books, like Tracy Beaker and the Illustrated Mum, as well as creating best-selling picture books, such as You Choose, Shark in the Park and Pants.

Nick has illustrated close to 260 books. They range from board books for babies to novels for young teenagers. He has also worked with authors including Julia Donaldson, Jeremy Strong, Michael Rosen, Giles Andreae, Kaye Umansky and Kes Gray. Nick has also written around 40 of his own bestselling books and he is the proud recipient of a gold Blue Peter badge.

Nick will lead this family-friendly Easter treat at the Swindon Arts Centre from 2pm. He will explain how creates his picture books, and he will show you how to draw Tracy Beaker and Timothy Pope, kings and cats and all kinds of crazy creatures. Nick will also be sharing some of his very best drawing tips.
