Market manager Kardien Gerbrands talks about Swindon’s farmers’ markets

Well, what can I say? This Sunday will see the market at its most humungous, its most vibrant and most wonderful – 25 stalls selling anything from a potato to a bottle of sparkling wine, from a fused glass dish to a pack of mince pies, from a turkey pie to a cinnamon doughnut.

Yes, friends it is going to be great!

Meet your friends, meet your favourite stallholders, get all you need for the festive table, chat, smile and enjoy this wonderful event in all its glory.

And what a year it has been! We celebrated our 10th birthday in November and I can report that the market is flourishing, with more stalls than ever before and trade for stallholders better than ever. For this we thank you, our loyal regulars. Without you there wouldn’t be a market.

How is it possible to thank all of you? There is only one way that I can think of and that is by putting on the best possible farmers’ markets week in, week out.

The level of support shown by you, our dear customers, has made this an excellent year for the market.

So, thanks very much. And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
