Do you cook a lot yourself? What is your failsafe dish?

I used to install kitchens, but I'm hopeless at cooking and much prefer someone else to cook.

Where do you like to eat out? How often?

I enjoy Chinese food; my favourite is sweet and sour chicken. But I don't eat out very often now.

What do you always hope to find on a menu? For starter? Main course? Dessert?

For starter I do like soup and usually look for that: mushroom or carrot and coriander are my favourites.

For main course, any sort of chicken dish especially sweet and sour.

For dessert, any sort of ice cream, except chocolate, and especially with profiteroles.

Which foods did you hate as a child? Do you eat them now?

I hated any sort of fish and still do.

What is your favourite drink? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

I've been teetotal over 40 years so my favourite soft drink is blackcurrant cordial.

Marmite: yes or no?

Yes, but spread thinly.

What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to food... something you know you shouldn’t eat, but do anyway?

Ice cream and profiteroles; preferably caramel.

You are on your own at home watching a film. What is you snack of choice?

A dish of cereal - usually Malt Shreddies.

You’re eating a bacon sandwich...ketchup, brown sauce or nothing at all?

Brown sauce.
