WHAT’S IT LIKE?
Originally a beer house, The Plough was built in 1841 by private landlord Thomas Ackling on the Lechlade road at Highworth.
Ackling owned The Plough until 1873 when it was bought by the Star Brewery of Stratton St Margaret. When the brewery folded in 1896, it was bought by Arkell's for £960.
WHO GOES THERE?
There is never a dull day at The Plough. With a pool table, SKY sports showing premiership football matches, not to mention bingo every Thursday and a weekly quiz night on Sunday, there is something for everyone.
The pub’s garden is also the ideal place for children to roam free and enjoy much-needed playtime.
The Plough also offers accommodation.
