BENJI Clements is performing at this year’s White Horse Festival.

Benji, from Calne, has won support from BBC Introducing and sang at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as singing his own song, called Different, in the BBC Garden for a TV documentary.

The singer swapped his drum kit for a microphone when he turned 20, stepping out from the backline to take centre stage.

“I lived and breathed drums since I was 11-years-old, but when I finally realised that I needed to sing, I sacked off the drums and followed my heart," said Benji.

He started singing at open mics and counts Al Green, George Benson, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder as his musical heroes.

On Sunday, August 30, Benji will be joining the line up for the fifth White Horse Festival starting at 12.30pm, at White Horse Country Park, Coach Road in Westbury.

The music kicks off at 2pm and joining Benji on the bill are Straight Shooter, The Leggomen, The Big Time, The Rob Lear Band, Will Lawton, Jamie R Hawkins and John Adams.
