An evening of original acoustic folk/roots music hosted by Swindon-based folk/pop collective Mr Love And Justice is to help a local charity.
The charity gig is in aid of Music Alive, and takes place at St Michael’s Hall, Lechlade Road, Highworth, on Sunday, November 27 from 5pm.
Music Alive is a registered charity that aims to improve access to music for people who have disablilities and for the able bodied, to spark interest and develop creative music making. The idea is to encourage people, through music, to achieve more independent, fulfilled and integrated lives.
Guest artists are the string-infused alternative acoustic band Rivers Of England, and folk singer Sarah Kelly.
Rivers of England have a new album out, release in February, called Astrophysics Saved My Life. It has all the band's trade mark Nick Drake/ John Martyn sound but with three rock blues numbers using the maestro guitar work of former Robert Plant's guitarist Innes Sibun. they will pkay tracks from the album at the Hgihworth gig.
Sarah Kelly, folk singer/songwriter from Gloucestershire, has a passion for the ukulele. She teaches what she calls UKE-CAN ukulele lessons.
Mr Love and Justice led by Steve Cox play a contemporary melodic folk, tinged with rock and pop.
