Sue Austin, a huge Elvis Presley fan, has persuaded one of the UK's top tribute singers to perform in Swindon.

Pete Storm won the 2011 Images of Elvis World Championship when he was visiting Gracelands in Memphis, USA, and this weekend heads for the Moonrakers pub in Cricklade Road.

Sue, from Purton, works for Austin Leisure, so she sneaked a few of Pete's songs on to juke boxes in Swindon pubs and fooled a number of fans into believing it was Elvis.

“So many people have thought it was Elvis singing when it was actually Pete!” said Sue, “To get someone so amazing to come to Swindon is huge, he regularly performs across the world so it’s a massive coup for him to perform here.”

Pete is also a life long Elvis fan, but only began performing his tribute act when he was in Tenerife on holiday. He has always loved Elvis Presley's music and got up to perform in a karaoke bar. His interpretation of the King of Rock 'n' Roll so impressed the bar owner that he signed him up on the spot as resident singer.

Pete is now based in London, but performs all over the globe including Australia, Canada, America, Brazil, Europe and he has even sung for the Tokyo Elvis Presley fan club.

He is much in demand for festivals and conventions including the Bad Neauhem Elvis Festival in Germany, where Elvis was station during his army years.

Pete also teams up with singing partner Kelly Michelle as a country music duo. Their theatre show, This Is Country, has proved hugely popular with country and western music fans and the duo are currently writing their own album.

Elvis fans from far and wide will be travelling to the Moonrakers on Friday, December 9 to see Pete perform.
