The Astral Ponies, pictured, will gallop into Swindon this weekend to join a special Christmas party in aid of the homeless.

Jason Moore, from the Beehive pub on Prospect Hill in Old Town, has organised a huge raffle of more than 100 prizes in aid of Christmas Cares pop up shelter for the homeless of Swindon.

The draw will be on Saturday, and the Astral Ponies, best known for their pop rock songs with Kid Calico, will be playing a DJ set.

Among the prizes on offer are a couple of signed books from Jasper Fforde who has set many of his novels in Swindon, a five litre mini keg of Funky Monkey Beer from Milk Street Brewery, prints from local artists, original art work from Billy Beaumont, Fred Blunt, and Gordon Dickinson, meal vouchers for popular restaurants in the town, recording studio time, entry tickets to museums, wildlife centres, sporting events, services such as MOT, dog grooming, free boiler service and a personal lecture in righteousness of right wing politics by Dave Aiken.
