The sun has certainly not set on pop punk band, As The Sun Sleeps, as for the last two years the musicians have been building a firm following for their slick punk melodies.

The distinctive vocals of Joe Beck give this young Swindon-based outfit their edgy style, and they will be performing at Level 3, Commercial Road, on Saturday, January 14 from 7pm. The four piece will be singing tracks from their first two EPs Never Stars and As The Sun Sleeps and their new EP As Good As Gold, which will be released on Friday, January 20.

The boys are keen to keep their music very much in their own hands by recording, performing and even filming their own video. They did get a helping hand from another well known singer/songwriter from Swindon, Theo Altieri, when they recorded the single Nostalgia, but they still believe in keeping hold of the reigns.

The boys got together in 2014 and their first live gig was supporting the Gnarwolves.

In 2016 they recorded Never Stars at Steel City Studio in Sheffield and embarked on their first tour.

Also on the bill at Level 3 are reggae posse SN Dub Station, an eight-piece performing a mix of genres including dub and ska. The guys are firm favourites on the festival circuit winning more fans last year at The Fieldview Festival and the Boondocks Festival.

The Swindon group will be performing songs from their EP, What You Talk About, and their singles Hey Now and Yesterday, on their twangy guitars and trippy synths, at Level 3.

Tickets to see these two up-and-coming, homegrown bands are £3 and available from 01793 534238 - Flicky Harrison
