Swindon's own Big Band, the Nathan Jones All Stars, are tuning up for a romantic evening of music and dance in aid of the British Heart Foundation for Valentine's.

The 20-strong band are best known for their rendering of such stars as Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin, but they also tackle more modern pop songs made famous by Robbie Williams and Michael Buble.

On Saturday, February 18 the Valentine's Dance kicks off at 8pm in the Supermarine Club, South Marston, when four trumpets, four trombones, five saxophones, Ed Puddick on drums, Simon Ridge on bass, and Sam James on guitar will come under the baton of Nathan Jones.

Sam and trombone player Kieran Potter have just gained distinctions in their ATCL, (Associate of Trinity College London) diplomas.

The band, that has been playing at weddings, parties, festivals, theatres and corporate events since 2010, also has soloists Vic Clements, Kym Rose and Terry Franks performing.

Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer so the British Heart Foundation is leading the fight against cardiovascular disease.

Tickets to the Valentine's Dance are £10 from Holmes Music in Faringdon Road, Swindon, 01793 520948 or to book online visit www.jumblebee.co.uk/valentinesdance - Flicky Harrison
