“SOCIETY does not consist of individuals but expresses the sum of interrelations....” Discuss.

Writing a weekly music column is very rarely a solo endeavour (and when it is, it is rarely a good thing).

You have to lean on people for ideas, recycle quotes, ask friends what they think you can get away with, and on occasion the editor might step in to guard against litigation.

In the spirit of communal endeavour (and because I’ve not been buying many records lately) I’ve turned to a few comrades for help.

This should also broaden the inlets and sluice a bit of variety into the Cosmos according to Wormhole.

In modern parlance, I have shaken up the bottle and squeezed out a crowdsource.

“Mirror battle. The latest release by Tom Dice and his label, Don’t Bite Records, is best categorised by its own words. This “schizophrenic rap” takes place over a double bass as Mr Dice battles both sides of his brain, pitting his self doubts against his self esteem before it drives him insane! Check him out.

“Two raw and gritty 10-inch releases from The Drumetrics Collective. The music is inspired by library music, using vintage analogue equipment. I highly recommend listening to it.”

“Cavern Of Anti-Matter – Void Beats. The unholy trinity of Tim Gane, Joe Dillworth and Holger Zapf make their third vinyl outing with this three disc collection of Krautrocky, techno-infused electronica goodness. You can feel the jammy takes and swing of their limited overdubs, like a loose version of Stereolab. A future classic.”
