Tickets are on sale now for the green-fields 2000 Trees Rock Festival when Lower Than Atlantis will be headlining.

The Cheltenham-based festival notches up its 11th year with a line up of more than 120 acts including Slaves, Nothing But Thieves, Jamie Lenman and Pulled Apart by Horses.

The festival runs from July 6 to July 8 at Upcote Farm near Cheltenham and Lower Than Atlantis and Slaves will be double headlining the main stage on the Saturday night.

Dec Hart the bass player with Lower Than Atlantis said that the musicians had all gone to festivals before they were invited to perform as a band.

"We all started out camping at festivals but now I am glad there are no more tents and mud when we are playing,'' he said.

The band will be playing songs from their latest album Safe In Sound out on Easy Life Records and Red Essential, when they come to the festival.

"Our European/UK tour was a massive success,'' said Dec. "For the first time people were reacting to our new songs from the get go. We used new stuff in half our set and they were all connecting with the songs.''

The festival mixes up the genres from the worlds or rock and indie introducing some up and coming artists, some underground acts and established musicians to entertain the 10,000 crowd. Refreshments include locally produced ciders, ales and lagers

Festival organiser James Scarlett says: “Right now the UK rock scene is in ridiculously strong health and we’re very happy to be giving these bands a chance to co-headline a UK festival bill. Slaves will close the festival main stage on the Saturday night, with co-headliners Lower Than Atlantis on just before them. On the Friday we’ve got headliners Nothing But Thieves following Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes and let’s not forget Mallory Knox on our Thursday early entry night. It truly feels like 2000trees version 11 is going to be the best one yet. Roll on July!”

Some bands such as the Gnarwolves and Mallory Knox are making a welcome return to the festival.

Mikey Chapman from Mallory Knox said: We're really looking forward to getting back to 2000 trees again this year, we had an awesome time last year can't wait to do it all again with a new set."

Thom from Gnarwolves agreed and said: "This year we will be playing 2000 trees for the 3rd time. We love coming back to play because the response is always so great. They put a lot of effort into championing independent UK bands and the atmosphere is awesome! Plus, we're in the big boy font on the poster for the first time, which is very exciting."

Tickets for the festival are £83 for a two-day ticket (Friday and Saturday) £100 for a full three-day ticket (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) For booking or more details visit http://www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk/ - Flicky Harrison
