Gaz Brookfield, former Swindon singer/songwriter, makes a welcome return to the west country when he joins the line-up for this year's Headstock Festival.

This is the second year the family friendly music festival has taken place in the little village of Heddington near Calne.

Organisers of the festival are former Swindon landlord Dave Young and Tony Green both musicians and founder members of the riotous The Boys From County Hell.

Dave said: "Heddstock is a non-profit making festival to raise money for the Heddington Amenities Committee. We have put together a very eclectic line-up of live music for our second festival including the world's leading Bowie show, festival favourites and local legends.''

The line-up includes the Bowie Experience paying tribute to the much loved and much missed pop icon, David Bowie, The Tribe fresh from their adventures at the famous Glastonbury Festival, Mick O'Toole Band a southern counties favourite cider swilling folk outfit and Appalatian folk tinged with Moonshine sounds from Billy In The Lowground.

Ploughing through some musical seas will be the rum-swillin' Peerless Pirates and Swindon's own Mississippi Delta blues band Pignose led by Pete Cousins will be recalling songs from the Deep South while Gaz makes his own original acoustic splash, this time accompanied by Ben Wain on violin.

Dave said: "We have parking next to the festival entrance and a taxi rank set up. There will also be a shuttle bus service running to and from Calne town centre. The festival site entrance is at the side of the lovely thatched Ivy Inn. It is the same site as the famous Heddington Steam Rally.''

There will be refreshments on offer and gates open at 2pm on Saturday July 8. Tickets are £12 for adults, £5 for under 12s and under fives go free. For more details visit www.facebook.com/Heddstock - Flicky Harrison
