Singer/songwriter Minnie Birch mooches into Swindon next week to perform at the latest Lazy Sunday Afternoon acoustic sessions.
Minnie comes from Herefordshire, and she came seventh in the list of Buzzfeeds Brilliant British Songwriters To Discover.
Steve Cox, founder of the acoustic afternoon, said: "Minnie writes plaintive, dark, beautiful music about life, love adventures and fairy tales. She is winning over hearts one gig at a time.''
Steve leads the Swindon collective known as Mr Love and Justice, who host the Lazy Sundays on the third Sunday of the month at Savernake Community Hall, Old Town, from 3pm to 5pm. The folk band play melodic guitar-driven original songs.
Also on the bill for Sunday, November 19 is Grasslands, a fusion of alternative rock, electronica and folk sounds, created by Tom Haynes from Swindon. Tom is a musician, producer and ecologist who, through his music, gives information about meadows, grasses and the environment. He plays with a rig of synths, samplers and DJ decks or a stripped back acoustic act with guitar and occasional samples.
Tickets are £5 in advance from www.wegottickets.com/events/418143 or £6 in advance. - Flicky Harrison
