Popular Swindon band Black Sheep Apprentice will be rocking the Arts Centre next week when they launch their new album Born To Walk Alone.

Lead singer Richard Skidmore, aka Skiddy, has been in a number of bands throughout the years, including Jacksauce, creating a sound that he describes as 'dark country'.

Black Sheep Apprentice with Steve Paj Pagett on drums, was set up as a vehicle for Skiddy's own songs. The guys will be singing tracks from the new album at the special concert on Thursday, March 29 from 8pm.

The band name their influences as Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, BB King, Rob Orbison, Tom Petty, Motorhead, ZZ Top and The Doors.

The band have a music video for their debut single, which was shot in and around Old Town and tells a touching father-and-daughter tale. Born To Walk Alone takes in RPM Records and The Tuppenny pub during a father’s search on the streets. The video features Colin Dubbs Doubleday, Paj and Ed.

The band is running a competition to win two tickets to its album launch show. To enter simply ‘like’ the Black Sheep Apprentice Facebook page and share the video post.
