A CHARITY concert featuring Swindon singer Lewis Blissett will be held at the Arts Centre next month.
Heavy snow from the Beast from the East forced the Voice Kids concert to be rescheduled to Sunday April 8 at 1pm.
Lewis made it to the semifinals of last year's Voice Kids and persuaded the concert's organisers to host an event in his hometown so that his terminally-ill grandmother could attend.
His grandmother Lorraine will watch her talented grandson perform with several of his talent show co-stars at the Arts Centre to raise money for U Support Children's Charity.
Lewis asked Adam Gregory, the charity's founder, to host the concert there after performing a similar gig in Portsmouth last year, which was too far for Lorraine to travel.
The 63-year-old was diagnosed with lung cancer in August and is undergoing chemotherapy at the moment. The cancer is treatable but not curable.
She will be guest of honour at the Arts Centre event, which starts at 1.30pm on Sunday March 4.
Nationwide are one of the sponsors of the concert and Morrison’s in Regent Circus has also offered their support.
U Support are offering a number of free tickets to the concert for disabled children.
Tickets cost £16.50 each and are available from the box office. Call 01794 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk
