A FAMILY-FOUNDED music school is preparing to hit a high note this spring when it welcomes ITV's The Voice to its state-of-the-art studios.

Everybody Sing, based in Cheney Manor, will host the auditions for the hit ITV singing show later this month, and the school has high hopes for its pupils as well as auditionees from across the town who have already booked their slot before the talent scouts.

"To have the winner come through Everybody Sing and come from our home town would mean the absolute world," said Everybody Sing operations manager Zoe Naudo. "We see such amazing talent in our school so it would mean everything to us. We are very excited to have people signed up for auditions and we hope they can really show off their talent, and who knows, maybe even be the winner."

The school has grown significantly over the past couple of years, with its base in Belmont Crescent in Old Town now a top-of-the-range recording studio run in partnership with Crescent Records. The school's new venue has seen it capacity increase significantly from around 200 during its days in Old Town to more than 500 now, with a further 200 pupils signed up to take part in the school's holiday workshops.

The new venue has allowed the school to expand with a number of studios, as well as its own theatre, which will host The Voice auditions.

Everybody Sing's director Kerry Richings, mother to principal Sophie Haynes, said the school had set itself apart by focussing on vocals, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to put their talents to use. "There are a number of dance and performing arts schools in Swindon, but we really wanted to put Swindon on the map when it comes to vocals," she said.

The school offers a wide and varied curriculum, with everything from musical theatre and glee clubs to piano forte, tap dancing, and even corporate activity days. Their Easter activity days have proven to be busy and popular with singers jumping at the chance to perfect their performances of big numbers from The Greatest Showman, Matilda and Trolls.

Pupils at the school are also busy preparing for their performance of Fame at the Arts Centre on May 20, with the evening performance sold out.

And rehearsals have already begun for their annual performance at The Wyvern Theatre, with members treading the boards this year in a performance of Oh What A Night on November 17.

The Voice is eager to hear from incredible solo artists, duos and trios for the auditions, which will take place at Everybody Sing's new studios at the Alpha Centre in Cheney Manor on Friday, April 20 from 6pm until 8pm. Those wishing to audition need to be over the age of 16 by October 1, 2018, and should prepare one song with either a backing track on an electronic device, a musical instrument, or they can perform acapella.
