  • Tanwood Youth Theatre brings the magic of the musical to Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre this weekend, with their new production, 42nd Street.

Billed the mother of all showbiz musicals, 42nd Street is the song and dance American dream fable of Broadway, with plenty of iconic tunes such as We’re in the Money, Lullaby of Broadway and I Only Have Eyes for You.

With music by Harry Warren, and lyrics by Al Dubin, based on the novel by Bradford Ropes, the story is about the efforts of a show director to put on a successful musical extravaganza at the height of America’s Great Depression in the 1930s.

Performances take places at 7.30pm on Friday, 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, and 2.30pm on Sunday.

Following the success of CATS and Footloose, Tanwood will present the show with live music from a full professional orchestra.

Tickets are £17 to £22, with concessions and group discounts available. To book, call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.

Tickets are £10.50 to £12. To book, visit swindonfringefestival.com.
