Name: Beatbullyz
Members: Bully (Andy Bullimore) Bozo, (Daniel Dubose) and Disco (Stuart
Anderson)
Swindon hip-hop band Beatbullyz will be playing on the popular Channel 4 drama Hollyoaks.
The funky trio won through to the final 25 contestants in the national
competition and scooped the winning slot which means they will be recording for the TV series in the next six weeks.
The trio are Bully, (Andy Bullimore) Bozo, (Daniel Dubose) and Disco (Stuart
Anderson).
Throughout November and December, 4unsigned teamed up with Channel 4's Hollyoaks to search for the best new music and unsigned bands.
Hundreds of bands entered from all over the UK, all hoping for the chance to
appear live on the TV show.
Bozo said: "It will mean massive exposure for the band."
The trio will be releasing their new album ROOTZ in March.
"It is our first album and the 12-track release will have all the classic Beatbullyz anthems including Paranoid and Wham.
"We will also have the new massive tracks Golden City and Keyz to Life,"
said Bozo.
"Expect to be blown away with our distinctive sound that sports
massive sounding beats along with melodic hook driven funk hop!"
The album will be on sale or download in late February from Beatbullyz site.
It was Bully who was the founder member of the band. He is trained in electric guitar, violin and jazz piano.
He studied sound engineering at Salisbury College and when he returned to
Swindon launched Nebulae a live drum and bass act.
After Nebulae, and still being addicted to bass, Bully went solo as a drum and bass act called Bully Live.
He then teamed up with Bozo, who was a former kick boxer and martial arts
instructor, and old pal Disco, to ride the mainstream.
In the last few years the boys have been pretty busy pushing the Beatboyz.
They won the dance category in the Diesel-umusic awards in 2003 which was
shown on 4music and they performed at the Snow bombing festival and Miami
winter music conference with Goldie and EZ rollers.
Beatbullyz won the national final of the UK Unsigned Bands Competition in 2007 and played alongside Midge Ure in Bath at an ITV-televised charity show.
They played the Old Town Bowl Dragonfly Ball and were interviewed on Bath FM Radio, appeared on MTV, ITV and HTV and have been featured on BBC News 24.
The trio are again returning to the Snow Bombing festival in Austria.
