Teen band The Purple Streams play their own indie rock. The guys all under 17 years of age are causing quite a stir in music circles in and around Swindon.
They were regional winners of the H Factor competition which scooped them £1,000 prize and a chance to play the national finals in Surrey where they won the approval of celebrity judge Will Mellor from Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps and BBC TV’s EastEnders.
The guys are Ben Altieri, lead singer, his brother Theo on drums, Joe Gentilcore, on lead guitar and Rupe Jelley, on bass. They have been interviewed twice on BBC radio. They were originally called the Jelley Babies but changed when they realised there was another band with the same name.
