THE members of Talk In Code met through a combination of chance meetings, curiosity, drunken banter and, of course, the simple love of making music. Having already spend considerable time in other groups, the bandmates are all Swindon-based, which made forming a little easier and things didn’t take long to start moving.

The name is taken from a feeling that portrays a confused state of mind combined with things just not making sense. From initial brainstorming sessions through spring 2007, the music soon developed into something electric and the ideas were knocked into shape with almost immediate effect.

The songs are forged around an emotion-based theme and how we all deal with what life throws at us differently. The melodies boast anthemic, charismatic attitude underpinned by fizzy, solid rhythms to stunning effect. Keyboards and soaring guitars lend bundles of atmosphere whilst subtleties keep the listener engaged.

Playing live is top of the agenda for the band with a promise of an energetic, absorbing performance with plenty of edge and no doubt a few spontaneous outbursts along the way. Talk In Code is a band that shows direction and a band that displays clear purpose and cause.

It is made up of Chris Stevens, vocals and acoustic guitar, James Frost, lead guitar, Damien Davis, keyboards and backing vocals, Paul McGregor, bass, and Matt Bateman, drums.

The bandmates count among their influences: U2, Jeff Buckley, The Rolling Stones, Jewel, The Charlatans, Muse, Doves, Morning Runner, Oasis, Coldplay, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Feeder, Ride, Counting Crows, Rage against the Machine, Stone Roses, Keane, Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
