Tying up some cool support slots such as Lord Bishop and Fortune Drive, Swindon band The Knott have their feet firmly on the first step of the fame ladder.

The band are led by Lee Knott from Old Town and got together last year.

The original line-up was Lee, Andy Dickinson on guitar and Sam Bailey on drums. They were then joined by Matt Keeble on bass.

When Sam left, Matt coerced his former band mate Roy Bailey to give it a go. The two had previously been in the glam rock outfit Timewarp.

The band had to rest while Andy had to do his tour of duty in Afghanistan but once he safely returned they got back in the music saddle.

Sadly the RAF serviceman is returning for a second stint to Afghanistan but will be back with his band mates in the New Year.

The Knott opened the Sugarhill Festival, this year, as well as supporting the recently EMI signed Fortune Drive.

Get Knotted, the debut EP by the guys, is currently on sale at all their gigs.

The Knott are writing their debut album and invite anyone interested to donate to the album fund in return for a mention on the production credits of the CD.

Matt said: “We don’t know what’s next on the cards but we’re having a laugh finding out and really enjoying the fact that people seem to like our tunes.”
