It’s that time of year when many households are putting up their Christmas trees and decking the halls while listening to the festive album by St Agnes Fountain.
The folk supergroup only get together for a live tour in December, and as part of their UK Christmas travels will drop in to entertain the Marlborough Folk Roots fans, on Thursday, December 15 at Christchurch, New Road in the town from 8pm.
The arrival of the band in Marlborough heralds the start of the Yuletide., The group's name is derived from the Christmas Carol, Good King Wenceslas.
The musicians are founder David Hughes, Fairport Convention’s Chris Leslie and the 2009 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Duo, Chris While and Julie Matthews.
The folk royalty will be mixing up humour, original songs and unusual arrangements of favourite Christmas tunes. Tickets to the Marlborough concert are £19 from www.marlboroughfolk-roots.co.uk.
