There will be more than Irish eyes smiling when the Mick O'Toole Band tune up for a Christmas Eve party.

The Celtic punk band, based in Calne, play a mix of Irish classics and their own original songs in fiesty punk rock fashion from 9pm at The Rolleston, Commercial Road on Christmas Eve.

The band are named after a song performed by fellow Calne-ites, the English Celtic rock group, The Boys From County Hell, whose line-up includes former Swindon landlord and current music promoter Dave Young.

Musicians in the Mick O'Toole Band are accordion, banjo and lead vocals: Johnny Reprobate, drums: Jamie Squires, guitar: Tyler Shurmer, mandolin/vocals: Ronnie Casanova and bass and vocals: Guy Shergold.

The boys will sing songs from their debut EP Deep In Cyder and their latest EP 1665 Pitchfork Rebellion along with some old Irish cider-swilling favourites.

The band have a loyal following and a swelling fan base which is increased by support slots with bands such as the UK Subs.
