Swindon DJs Antonio Montauro and Shaun Skinner decided to go back to the future by recreating the heady days of House music at a special night called Retrospective.

Tickets have just gone on sale for the dance event that will conjure up memories of The Ministry of Sound, Cream and Ibiza.

The DJs signed up four legends of the decks, K-Klass, Alex P, Seb Fontaine and Brandon Block to perform at Meca in Regent Circus, Swindon on Saturday, September 30.

Antonio said: "The 90’s saw a new dawn of dance, following on from the earlier days of acid house. Unique styles, innovative DJ’s and club nights were popping up in the most unlikely of places. They brought like minded music lovers together. Today there are very few events for the generation that grew up with House music in the 1990s, so we aimed to bring those artists to one venue for one night.''

K-Klass are an electronic music group that kicked off the 1990s sound, scooping a number three slot in the mainstream UK singles chart with their song Rhythm Is A Mystery.

The musicians acquired a retired Royal Observer Corps underground bunker in Borras to use as a recording studio for both their own projects and for producing and remixing tracks by other artists. They were the producers on the Pet Shop Boys hit album Bilingual, and also worked with Candi Staton and The Corrs.

Alex P is one of the old skool DJs working at clubs such as Amnesia before jetting off around the world DJ-ing in Dubai, Tokyo, Singapore, Las Vegas and of course Ibiza.

He was a wild child of the generation. Along with his equally bad boy pal, Brendan Block, the DJs scooped themselves a slot on London's Kiss FM drive time show on a Friday night, which became known as Anarchy on air. Today Alex P is an ambassador for the Disc Jockey Association that lends a hand to all DJs from beginners to superstars.

Nowadays Brandon Block is known as much for his TV appearances as his music. He has appeared on Celebrity Come Dine With Me and Celebrity Big Brother - and stayed for 10 days! He also appeared on The Weakest Link Music edition.

He has played all the big name clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Miss Moneypennys, Karanga and Republica.

Seb Fontaine became a household name through his BBC Radio 1 programme, and his outside broadcasts in Ibiza. He was resident DJ at Cream, one of the UK's largest club nights, and was a remix producer in his own right.

In Swindon Shaun will be doing these DJ giants justice by providing some special pa and lighting imported from Germany.

"Not only will it look and sound amazing but it will offer an extra special experience to the show. If you love club classics, remember the “old” Brunel rooms, have old Cream and Ministry of Sound albums in your collection then this night is for you,'' he said.

Supporting the legends will be Antonio himself and local DJ Mark Jay.
