British-born but American styled singer/songwriter Josh O'Keefe is back in the UK and performing in Cricklade.

He joins Charlie Dore for an acoustic gig at The Old Stables tomorrow as part of a UK tour where he will sing songs from his debut album.

In 2009 Josh dropped out of college in Derby and traveled across the pond to Nashville in the United States. He wanted to get inspiration from the home of folk and country music, where his idols Hank Williams Sr and Johnny Cash had both once lived.

He visited the places they had graced regularly; became a regular in the rock and roll clubs in East Nashville; met a host of other musicians and began writing songs at an astonishing pace which went on to land him a number of major label cuts.

Over a couple of nights in his 350 sq. ft Tennessee log home Josh recorded his debut album using a borrowed RCA Microphone from the 1960s in which Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Guy Clark have all spat there mojo into and an Ampex 2-track Tape Machine which he bought from JJ Cale’s estate for $100.

And now Josh returns to his homeland for a string of dates which include his first-ever theatre performances and main stage festival slots.

The Old Stables Club was set up by music promoter Sean Devine and Cricklade Festival chairman Nigel Wynne.

Tickets to the gig are £10 from www.facebook.com/teholdstablesclub.
