The life and music of Ireland’s favourite sons will be celebrated at a show in Swindon tonight, called Seven Drunken Night: The Story of the Dubliners.

The show tells the story of a career spanning 50 years and evokes the spirit of Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna, Jim McCann, Ciaran Bourke and John Sheahan. Tonight’s talented cast of musicians and singers revives the music of this iconic group.

The Dubliners were an Irish folk band, founded in Dublin in 1962, who proved instrumental in popularising Irish folk music in Europe. The show will take you on a musical journey through time, transporting you back to O’Donoghue’s pub, TV appearances and famous scenes from their long career.

Look out for such classics as The Wild Rover, The Black Velvet Band, The Irish Rover, Molly Malone, Finnegan’s Wake, McAlpine’s Fusiliers, Raglan Road and of course The Seven Drunken Nights.

This celebration of the music of The Dubliners is described as a celebration of Irish music itself and promises an evening of humour, music and ‘craic.’

The show takes places at the Wyvern Theatre from 7.30pm and tickets are £25.
