ADULTS and children alike sang, played, acted and recited to show off their creative talents at the Royal Wootton Bassett Arts Festival this weekend.
The festival, held at Wootton Bassett School, aimed to give local people the chance to take part in arts activities and receive some expert feedback.
Among the classes were poetry writing, short-story writing, journalism, classical guitar, verse speaking, solo Shakespeare acting, and TV news reading.
John Davies, who co-ordinated the music side this year, said: “Our feeling is we want to give people from the Wootton Bassett and wider area the chance to take part in a number of arts activities.
“But on the music side, we probably have a greater number of entries overall, more than speech and drama, because there are fewer teachers of speech and drama in the area.”
The first part of the festival, which focused solely on music, was held in June.
This weekend saw music classes, and speech and drama classes, take place on both days, with creative writing taking place on just Saturday.
Last night, there was a finale concert which featured performances from some of the top entrants from the two parts of the competition.
