Well I'll be Damned! Captain Sensible plus ludicrous red beret still has that fire in his belly and thunderclap guitar that ricochets from wall to wall. |
| My Favourite album | | 1:11pm Monday 14th April 2008 | | Guitarist Michael King from Swindon said: "Sometimes unfairly mocked, Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms had a great impression on me. Mark Knopfler's guitar playing and song writing served as a gateway to the exploration and discovery of other wonderful people. Through Knopfler that I discovered Clapton and through Clapton, Hendrix." |

Mystic magic and pure rocking excitement fairly explodes from this four piece of unmeasurable talent. |

Remember the JCB song? This album has so much more to say about the band than their Christmas novelty number one hit. |

| Album of the week Little Dreams by Enjoy Destroy | | 10:16am Friday 28th March 2008 | | Little Dreams by Enjoy Destroy. Released this week available at HMV and all good record stores
Enjoy Destroy are a band that bathe their 11-track album in forceful melodies, with stand up and be counted lyrics and US West Coast sound. Right off the bat this is a CD to be reckoned with from the rolling drum intro on Mactier, to a guitar solo to die for in Cities. Little Dreams is the single with a fluffy intro that leads to a retro rock feel that blows you away. LBJ has a stonking, finger-picking guitar and machine gun drum meld while Hospital Bed has some pretty, lilting guitar with delicate vocals and a strong message: Seize the day. It also has a gorgeous blues guitar solo. This is not a rock band at war with itself, every instrument has its place and dovetails precisely with the others. |

Stainer's Crucifixion
Seventeen Singers sang The Crucifixion during the Palm Sunday service in St Markâ?s Church, Swindon. Dan Chamberâ?s choirmaster and organist directed the augmented Church Choir in a moving rendition of Stainerâ?s work. Michael Enrightâ?s rich, mellow bass voice was well chosen for the role of Jesus which he sang with great musicality and sensitivity. |
