ROBERT PLANT Lullaby And... The Ceaseless Roar
Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has embarked on various musical paths since the hard rock band split in 1980.
Plant remains one of the best rock vocalists of his era and is in fine voice throughout this record, with strong songwriting and musicianship making it a hugely rewarding listen.
Plant and his superb band include a variety of influences, from traditional Irish music to their trademark African rhythms. Opener Little Maggie sets the tone, with the rollicking Pocketful Of Golden and A Stolen Kiss, demanding the listener’s attention.
Outside the Zeppelin catalogue, this is undoubtedly a career highlight. 9/10 – Kim Mayo
