Clash fans in Swindon witnessed a breath-taking night of nostalgic punk last week, which I doubt could ever be matched.
The set was an inspiring mix of pure Clash power and professional musical magnificence from the first throes of Hate And War to the power and gusto of White Man In Hammersmith.
The list of Clash magic on view that night held the punters in a daze throughout.
London Calling showed the band’s brilliance in all its majestic splendour. The sheer volume of material on view showed the band was replete in its commercial repose and it is a shame they fizzled out too soon.
It is with delight that London Calling saw fit to enlist a community Clash spirit in which to pay tribute to their heroes.
They did themselves and The Clash proud and for that we are truly thankful. It was a truly inspiring evening.
