Adele’s album has been out for less than a week but it has already sold almost three million copies and smashed American sales records.

The British singer sold 2.8 million copies of her album 25 in the first five days in America, including 1.45 million digital sales, according to Nielsen Music.

Her record has also broken the sales record in Canada, selling 261,000 albums in just over four days, according to People.

The album has already snatched a record from Justin Timberlake’s former band *NYSNC.

On Tuesday it had sold 2,433 million copies, surpassing the previous single-week album sales record held by the boyband, Billboard reported.

Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick sold 2.416 million copies of No Strings Attached in March 2000.

Adele has already snatched Taylor Swift’s record for the most YouTube views with her smash hit Hello. Taylor previously held the record for her star-studded accompaniment to Bad Blood.
