Swindon ghost research charity Paranormal Site Investigators (the organisation behind the Haunted Swindon project) has, this week, launched a rare opportunity for members of the public to become PSI paranormal investigators.

Recruitment organiser Nicky Sewell said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in alleged ghost experiences to join a scientific research unit.”

The Ghost Investigating Experience: Nicky Sewell commented: “Scientific investigating in the real world is nothing like what you see on TV. Some people think that the ghost-chasing antics of entertainment programs like Most Haunted are the reality of research, but that could hardly be further from the truth.

“Some new investigators are nervous before they start, but once they realise that ghosts don’t ‘walk past’ in every investigation and that they are really part of a scientific experiment then they feel fine and are ready to get down to work.”

How to Become a Ghost Investigator: Interested members of the public are asked to ring PSI on 0845 652 1529 or to email through the PSI website: www.paranormalinvestigators.org.uk Nicky added: “We are looking for people with commitment and the right mind-set to join our friendly and inclusive team; that is more important than experience. We are looking for open-minded people, but those with a rational and scientific outlook.

“Applicants will attend our introduction session, will be invited to submit an application form, come to an interview, attend several training days and be assessed in the field before being accepted.”
