Poetry Corner
Our Garden by John Cole
Seated on my favourite chair, through window is a scene
of winter garden, - don't despair, it is THAT time between.
Spring is round the corner', most everybody says,
be prepared for fauna, in coming lighter days.
Garden now, is at rest, - snowdrops been and gone,
Daffs' sleeping at our behest, awaiting for bird song.
Summertime glows with flora, flowers brought in to please
for my dear wife's quality time - to ease infirmities.
Grace (not then), in nursing home, - enjoyed our time together.
I daily visit, she's never alone, our love is - FOREVER.
Bird feed out - fluttering wings, suggests maybe, they're famished.
Keep watch - guarding them, from cats, AS THEY ARE BANISHED!
Fading light, no more to see,
Wend my way to kitchen, -
To make a cup of tea.
Cheers!
