Have you heard the latest news
I can't believe it's true
The Wyvern dragon, born of myth
Replaced by something new.
Replaced by what, I hear you ask
We're told to wait and see.

Am I alone to doubt a scheme
That's veiled in secrecy?
A water feature springs to mind
Built in the heart of town
Vandalism - litter-louts
The council knocked it down.

Balancing act Blondinis next
Right in the market square
They've moved it to another site
I really couldn't care.
And now we have a tele-screen
Bigger than any other
Who wants to stand in wind and rain
Just to watch Big Brother?
So stand up to be counted
If you feel strongly too
Or just stand by till it's too late
It's really up to you.
Another statue we don't want
The vandals would deface it
So planners, please take time to think
Our dragon - don't replace it.
