THE Coleview Community Centre Oktoberfest has been heralded as a fantastic success by the organisers.

The three day festival of beer and music got underway on Friday and ran through until Sunday evening.

The first night, billed as a ‘beerfest’, was all about the ales while Saturday’s ‘musicfest’ featured a barbecue, real ales, ciders and all the bands you could ask for. It was so popular that tickets had all been snapped up by Thursday last week.

Sunday saw the weekend wind down with a family funday.

Some 16 ales and five ciders were on offer throughout the festival including a daring mango cider and a varied choice of other local originals.

All proceeds raised went towards the Great Western Hospital’s Brighter Futures radiotherapy appeal.

Jake Henley, who organised the event, said: “What a fantastic weekend.

“Thanks to everyone who came along and supported our second beer and music festival.”

“A massive thanks goes out to everyone who helped us run the event - bar staff, volunteers, Brian on the sound and the bands who were just awesome, with each one of them donating some of their appearance fees to the charity.”

The event was sponsored by Ramsbury Brewery. and featured an exciting selection of local music acts including Karl Brookes, LadsLadsLads, the Britpop Boys, Toxic, Locomotion and Penfold.
