ITV’s revamped X Factor got the thumbs up on Twitter. Well, mostly…

The 12th series opener featured new judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw and new presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.

But there was some continuity in the form of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and the usual mix of good, bad, and downright bizarre contestants.

Some liked the changes.

But others weren’t keen on new judge Nick.

Don’t worry, Grimmers. These guys have got your back…

Unlikely though it may seem, many want Louis Walsh back…

And others are missing host Dermot O’Leary.

Viewers were feeling the Rita love.

But Twitter didn’t like Cheryl going all American on us.

4th Power got the most buzz.

However, the comedy acts didn’t go down well…

And there was uproar when Olly Murs’ mate Jon Goodey got four nos from the judges.

Meanwhile, you can set your watch by Lord Sugar slating X Factor.

And hello to the ‘kerching!’ signs in Simon’s eyes if an act really impresses.

Some things never change. Welcome back, X Factor!
