Former X Factor singer Lucy Spraggan has encouraged people to become foster carers after taking on the job herself with wife Georgina Gordon.

The artist posted a picture of the smiling couple, who married last year, on Facebook on Thursday.

Me and my fabulous wife are now officially …

Me and my fabulous wife are now officially approved foster carers! Really excited to see what we have in store. If you’re interested in becoming a foster carer have a read of the link below, everybody is welcome!

Including a link to The Fostering Network website, she added: “If you’re interested in becoming a foster carer have a read of the link below, everybody is welcome!”

The news comes days after the 25-year-old singer, who appeared on the TV talent show in 2012, made headlines following an alleged assault while she was out in Brighton.

She posted pictures of her injuries on Instagram – including a selfie in which she appeared to be holding a black clump of hair – writing that she and her wife were both attacked after a show.

Lucy’s spokesman commented at the time: “She suffered cuts and bruises to the face and other injuries including bite lacerations.”

He added that she was recovering quickly.

It has already been an eventful year for Lucy’s musical career.

She recently finished her European tour Dear You and in January released her album I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing.
